Young Adults Needs Health Insurance Too
In America, many young adults are uninsured because they don't have jobs that offer it, cannot qualify for aid, and think that they are healthy. However, one visit to the emergency room can costs thousands. Many of the youth figure they are healthy so they don't need it. "Adults younger than 35 are nearly twice as likely to be uninsured as adults 45 and older, according to a report by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Twenty-seven percent of young adults in their 20s have no health insurance.
For many young adults, the best strategy is to purchase a health insurance plan with a high deductible and low premium. That way, they are covered if something serious happens, but have to pay for routine services like doctor and dentist appointments.
