Michigan Court Ruling Prevents Gay Couples from Health Insurance

A court in Michigan ruled that Gay couples cannot receive health insurance or other benefits.

"The state Court of Appeals ruled Friday that Michigan's ban against gay marriage also blocks public universities and state and local governments from providing health insurance benefits to the partners of gay workers"

Public employers can still give benefits to unmarried couples if it is based on something other than marital status. More coverage can be found here.
