New Jersey Working on Universal Health Insurance
New Jersey is joining several more states in an effort to provide its residents with health care. It is discussed here. New Jersey spends about $600 million a year for uninsured patients who seek the emergency room for routine care. Emergency rooms cannot refuse treatment and must care for somebody with a cough or any problem that could be taken care of during an office visit. Universal health care would help to reduce this problem.
